Romance in the Late Summer, A Content Day at Sugar Hollow Retreat

During the late summer months, Sugar Hollow Retreat in Butler, TN set the scene for a perfect and magical content day! Four different couples were selected to model for the event, and the vendor team created several different wedding “vibes” to showcase their talents. As one of the florists chosen and invited to the event by Hunter Kittrell Photography, I was given two different design themes to work with and create florals for!

Being a part of content shoots allows me, as a designer, to test out new techniques, play with different textures and practice arranging with different kinds of florals in order to offer my brides and special events more diversity and skills. Content days create a place to glean from other vendors skills and talents while also giving me even more ideas in which to bring back to my bridal and event florals consultations!

Hi! Just a brief introduction to who I am…My name is Maegan and I am the owner and lead designer of The Floral Pop! Based in Nashville, I have been able to partake in several different styled shoots, and I love creating content within a theme. So this shoot was a blast to take part in!

As mentioned before, themes are typically given for content days. The first theme that I was tasked with was a vintage western sweetheart table with a basic color scheme for the table and bouquet. Due to there being multiple vendors, we had the chance to design with other elements such as a cow hide and candles. The color palette was very vibrant (which I LOVED) and allowed for a lot of creativity (including spray painting some greenery gold) when selecting florals and design elements!

The second theme I was tasked with was to create a disco vibe for a head table and a bouquet. This table and theme included a wide variety of textures, colors and accents with disco balls being used to reflect light in the most fun ways! The disco themed table contained a unique color palette which consisted of muted purples, peach, oranges and white. This theme was SO MUCH FUN to create because of all of the one-of-a-kind elements that we utilized to create a flowy and natural look.

If you are having a hard time deciding on your color palette for your wedding and need help coming up with a theme, then you are not alone! Plenty of brides know they want a beautiful wedding that reflects them and their personality, but have no idea where to begin. To gain some more guidance on a color palette or theme, let’s set up a consultation together at the Floral Pop, and we can begin designing your beautiful wedding day!
