Following a magical elopement in Australia, Taylor and Alex decided to hold a wedding reception with friends and family back in their current home of Tennessee! Taylor and Alex came to me with a vision for their wedding day that combined classy with boho chic and a whole lot of party!! I knew after having their first consultation that this was going to be one stunning day.
Hi there! My name is Maegan, owner and lead designer of The Floral Pop. The Floral Pop is a local Nashville based company that began in 2021 with a mission of creating beautiful wedding florals while giving back to the community around us. As a creative, one of my favorite things about floral design is getting to hear the couple’s vision for their special day, and the wedding of Taylor and Alex was no different.
Taylor’s color scheme is what drew me in when we first started talking. She wanted their wedding to be fun and colorful, but not overwhelmingly bright. A summer, outdoor, elopement style wedding in the heart of Tennessee. The bridal bouquet was full of pops of color which were displayed against a beautiful rolling green hills landscape at Ravenswood Mansion in Brentwood, TN. With it being a reception/celebration more so than a full wedding, Taylor chose to not have her bridesmaids carry bouquets. Instead, she focused on the reception florals. Their outdoor reception space was transformed by using twinkle lights and whimsical florals in bud vases scattered along the tables.
It was a beautiful bright sunny day until the inevitable Tennessee thunderstorm rolled through trashing the entire reception space. Bud vases were shattered, table cloths were flying and florals were soaked instead of dewy. Tragedy had struck the reception space, or so it seemed. EBJ and Company, Taylor and Alex’s wedding planners, immediately rushed in to salvage the reception space during the downpour. After getting a call from them explaining what had happened, I immediately jumped in my car with floral snips and an extra bucket of flowers to help out! When I arrived, EBJ and I teamed up to redesign and reimagine the now disaster of a reception space.
Within an hour, EBJ and The Floral Pop had re-transformed the reception space into its original whimsical beauty. After working with EBJ, I truly can not recommend them enough! Their coordination and efficiency in handling what could have been a disastrous moment was done professionally and with diligence.
At the end of the day, Taylor and Alex’s reception set up might not have gone completely as planned, but due to the diligence of their wedding vendors, their reception ended up being a party with all of their close friends and family! They had selected a strong team of vendors to have their back throughout their special day.
